Happy Fiesta Week, San Antonio!

Recently we hired Adam Barron to be on SARM staff. He is a great cook and helps Priscilla in the kitchen. We mourn the loss of our former employee Jesse Delgado who died on April 7 at the age of 55. Rest in peace, Jesse.

Our faithful returning meal volunteers include Woodland Church, The Hot Plate Project, and the Trinity Baptist Church Missions Team. Woodland served Phil Sagebiel's yummy lasagna, The Hot Plate Project provided pasta and salad, and the Trinity Missions team brought tuna fish casserole. Priscilla is wowing our guys with excellent meals including hearty meatloaf with lots of sides.

Fred Alvarado with Broken Warriors Angels brought thousands of pounds of fried chicken which he distributed to several locations including our Mission. One of our overnight guests, Marquell Wilson, gave back to the Mission by providing a whole lot of food! In addition, we have received many donations of food and items from our Amazon Wish List. We have added many more items that we need so go to our list HERE and take a look!

Thanks to everyone who came to SARM and donated food, meal and other items. It is much appreciated!

November Food Blessings (11.17.2025)

We know things are tough for many people right now, but SARM has been blessed so far with a lot of food in November! We have had six meals given by churches or individuals! Two more meals are going to be donated during the week of Thanksgiving! We also got donations of hygiene kits, large cases of apples and pears, and lots of white and sweet potatoes from various sources. Celebrating 50 Years of Service!

Fifty years ago today, October 22, 1975 , the San Antonio Rescue Mission opened its doors for the first time, and 7 men were ministered to that night. Many Meals in September

SARM guests were blessed with several meals in September. Woodland Church , led by Barbara Higdon, provided a meal for the first time since Covid! On Friday Sept. 12, the group served a delicious Mexican casserole with pasta salad, corn chips and salsa, mixed fruit, jalapenos and dessert. Welcome Ron Leonard!

SARM has a new Executive Director! Ron Leonard is a retired Navy and Army National Guard member having served 20 years. His education and experience include attending Bob Jones University majoring in Bible, and receiving a certificate in radio broadcasting, having worked at Christian radio stations as a DJ. HEB Olmos Park Makes Large Food Donation

HEB is very generous! Whether it’s disaster relief, education, emergency personnel, the military or hunger relief, they give generously. Over the past three years, SARM has received $850 in food assistance from HEB. This year we went to our local store in Olmos Park which is the nearest one to SARM.
