Celebrating 50 Years of Service!
Fifty years ago today, October 22, 1975 , the San Antonio Rescue Mission opened its doors for the first time, and 7 men were ministered to that night. They slept on pallets on the floor since there were no beds! In a November 1975 letter, a Board member stated, “We have been housing men for a little over a week, and God has given us many victories. Many Meals in September
SARM guests were blessed with several meals in September. Woodland Church , led by Barbara Higdon, provided a meal for the first time since Covid! On Friday Sept. 12, the group served a delicious Mexican casserole with pasta salad, corn chips and salsa, mixed fruit, jalapenos and dessert. Welcome Ron Leonard!
SARM has a new Executive Director! Ron Leonard is a retired Navy and Army National Guard member having served 20 years. His education and experience include attending Bob Jones University majoring in Bible, and receiving a certificate in radio broadcasting, having worked at Christian radio stations as a DJ. After completing his military service, he served with the North American Mission Board of the SBC and traveled representing the military for five years. He was ordained

HEB Olmos Park Makes Large Food Donation
HEB is very generous! Whether it’s disaster relief, education, emergency personnel, the military or hunger relief, they give generously. Over the past three years, SARM has received $850 in food assistance from HEB. This year we went to our local store in Olmos Park which is the nearest one to SARM. We received bags of frozen mixed vegetables, spaghetti noodles and sugar, all of which are needed for the meals we provide every night to our guests. Read more about HEB”s Co
